A heartfelt thanks to our dear friend Mr. Empi Martinez for sharing this experience.
Yesterday was one of those full, inspiring days. After wrapping up our Kustom Amplification video/recording shoot at Modular Display Inc, I headed over to Theodore Trading for a short meeting to talk about the companyโs plans for the year. Somewhere between the conversations and catching up, I finally found the right moment to put into words some overdue thoughts on a strap Iโve been quietly spending time with.
Been living with a new favorite from Theodoreโs new premium line.
Itโs 3 inches wide, which is right in my personal sweet spot. While itโs easy to assume that wider is always better for heavier instruments, Iโve learned that too wide can actually get uncomfortable over long sessions. This one lands perfectly in that balance zone.
The padding isnโt as thick as some of the other Theodore premium straps, but honestly, it doesnโt need to be. Itโs just as comfortable as the previous models and noticeably lighter. The underside has extra grip too, which makes a big difference specially when dealing with neck-heavy basses.
Material wise, itโs a solid mix of vegetable-tanned leather, genuine leather, and cowhide suede. After breaking it in, I noticed how naturally it starts to follow the contour of my shoulder, which only makes it feel better the more time you spend with it.
Visually, Iโm a fan. Clean stitching, beautiful finish, and the color matches my Sire USA M7 perfectly. Overall, this strap feels right comfortable, functional, and great looking.
Huge thanks to Theodore Trading for the opportunity and for handing me this gorgeous Theodore Platypus
