[Manila, Philippines] — 08.27.2025 —Pag-asa Steel Works, Inc. (PSWI), one of the country’s leading steel manufacturers, proudly celebrates its first year of partnership with retail electricity supplier Shell Energy Philippines (SEPH). This collaboration reflects PSWI’s commitment to actively source power from renewable energy sources.

Under the multi-year supply deal signed in 2024, Pag-asa Steel is sourcing 100% Renewable Energy as per DOE DC 2009-05-008 for its Manggahan plant and headquarters. This transition supports the company’s long-term sustainability goals while contributing to national efforts in addressing climate change.

At the landmark Memorandum of Agreement signing last year, SEPH President and CEO Bernd Krukenberg highlighted how Shell worked with steel manufacturers globally while reflecting on its commitment to the local market.
“Here in the Philippines, Shell is celebrating 111 years. SEPH is the Shell company in the Philippines that sells power and we are proud to be part of the energy transition. We have various offerings---renewable energy, renewable power generation…This is where we can truly make a difference, serving the nation and the world for the generations to come.”

PSWI President Wellington Y. PSWI Employees from different departments successfully completed a 4-day Standard First Aid, CPR, and Basic Life Support (BLS) training with AED last July 14-17, 2025.

In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, this mandatory training certifies participants as trained first aiders, ensuring workplace safety and strengthening our Emergency Response Team.
