What started as a simple way to earn extra allowance has now become one of my biggest achievements. From helping my mom with nails when I was younger to building ๐‘จ๐’๐’๐’† ๐‘ฉ๐’†๐’‚๐’–๐’•๐’š ๐‘ณ๐’๐’–๐’๐’ˆ๐’†, I am proud to share that I am now officially a Certified Nail Technician. ๐Ÿค

Sanitation vs Disinfection
Magkaiba yan, pero parehong mahalaga.

One thing I notice, maraming nail techs ang gumagamit ng words na ito interchangeably, akala pareho lang. But in reality, magkaibang step sila, and skipping one can lead to serious problems.

Sanitation means removing visible dirt. Ito yung washing hands, brushing tools, and cleaning surfaces. In short, tinatanggal mo yung nakikita mong dumi.

Disinfection comes after sanitation. Ito naman yung paggamit ng proper disinfectant to kill bacteria and microorganisms na hindi mo nakikita. Kahit mukhang malinis ang tools, hindi ibig sabihin safe na sila.

Hereโ€™s the truth that many forget
You cannot disinfect dirty tools.

Kung may dumi pa, dust, or debris, the disinfectant will not work properly. Parang nag-spray ka lang sa ibabaw, pero hindi talaga nalinis.

As nail professionals, responsibility natin to understand the difference, hindi lang for compliance, but for safety. This is how we protect our clients, our workspace, and our reputation.
