💡 DID YOU KNOW?

A Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) crane's wheel can be positioned at 0° for normal travel and 90° for sideways cross-travel. The crane can pivot or reposition within a container yard with intermediate steering angles. Some specialized RTGs can even pivot almost 360 degrees, which makes them incredibly maneuverable in confined areas.

However, if the steering system is not properly maintained, it may fail due to worn linkages, hydraulic leaks, malfunctioning steering components, or improper steering-angle calibration, which can prevent the wheels from reaching or maintaining in their intended positions.

When this occurs, an RTG may move unevenly, have trouble changing direction, or be unable to cross-travel properly. Increased tire wear, operational delays, and possible safety hazards can result from this. Maintaining the crane's maneuverability, dependability, and safety requires routine inspection and maintenance of its tires, steering mechanisms, hydraulic components, and steering controls.

We’re happy to share another milestone with the successful completion of this project, further strengthening our commitment to keeping our equipment safe, functional, and dependable.

The successful completion of our Alimak Elevator Corrective Maintenance Project marks another step toward ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient equipment operation. With the necessary improvements completed and the equipment’s performance verified, the elevator has been fully restored to proper working condition and it is now operating in full collective mode, ensuring dependable service and continued convenience for its users.

This achievement is a testament to the collaboration, technical expertise, and dedication of our engineers, technicians, and the entire project team. Their coordinated efforts and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety contributed to the successful restoration of the equipment and its return to reliable operation.

Last week, we shared that we've been busy behind the scenes. Here's one of the projects that has kept our team on the ground.

Stage 1 of the Travelling Hopper Recovery Project has been successfully completed.

As part of this phase, four (4) Travelling Hoppers were safely stabilized, secured, and positioned in preparation for the next stage of rehabilitation. This milestone establishes the foundation for a comprehensive engineering assessment before the major repair works begin.

With Stage 1 complete, we are now awaiting the commencement of Stage 2, which will involve the repair, rehabilitation, and replacement of the structural, mechanical, and electrical components identified during the post-recovery inspection and evaluation.

Every successful milestone reflects the dedication of our engineers, technicians, and project team, who continue to deliver safe, reliable, and quality engineering solutions.
