#59 Are we really going to build 39 underground lakes in Metro Manila? 🤔
Pres. Marcos proposed digging cisterns under UST and Rizal Memorial to catch 50,000 Olympic pools' worth of rain.
Here's the problem:
❌ Each cistern needs a 24-hectare footprint (the entire UST campus is only 21.5 hectares).
❌ Estimated cost: ₱111 BILLION+ (more than 5x the cost of dredging Laguna Bay).
❌ Laguna de Bay already holds 24x the required volume—but the rehab project was scrapped.
Instead of expensive, impossible holes under heritage sites, why not:
✅ Dredge Laguna de Bay (₱19B)
✅ Build smaller detention basins (like QC's basketball court project)
✅ Fix our drainage systems
This isn't a plan. It's a press release.
Numbers don't lie. Let's demand real solutions. 💪
