On September 30, 2025 at around 9:59 PM local time, a powerful magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck off the northern coast of Cebu, with its epicenter near Bogo City.
This quake was among the strongest ever in northern Cebu, and left significant damages to infrastructure, homes, churches, and hospitals.
