"The Rise of a Chess Talent"

I began playing chess through the influence of my MAPEH teacher, never imagining that I would reach heights that once seemed impossible in just two years. My journey was not built on pure talent alone, but on hard work, determination, and countless sacrifices, both literal and figurative.

This achievement would not have been possible without the support of many people. I am deeply grateful to my parents, Helen Rebollos Curativo and Yunyun Curativo,my friends,teammate and rival, Chester Sean Maravilles , who pushed me to become better. I would also like to thank my coaches, Sir Crisford Dumasapal , and my training partner, coach, and mental strength supporter, the GOAT Icon Keith Ceprado. Thank you all for your guidance and belief in me. Above all, I thank our Almighty Father for guiding me throughout this journey.

From being a beginner in 2023, winning only intramurals, to reaching provincial meets and earning three gold medals and one silver, along with qualifying for higher competitions, this two-year rise has been nothing short of spectacular.

The grind is not over. I will continue this journey and will not stop until I reach Palarong Pambansa. This journey proves that a teenager is capable of mastering great things when fully focused on a single goal. The fight is far from over, but I can truly say that every sacrifice I made was worth it.

"The Fall of a Great Tournament Run"

Fresh from Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte, where I won the Provincial Meet as a chess player, I faced another challenge, the Municipal Mathematics Quiz Bee. Coming from a winning streak in the Cluster Meet 2025 and Provincial Meet 2025, I aimed to continue my success through willpower and determination.

Despite lack of sleep from a five-hour travel and no preparation due to a tight schedule, I kept a positive mindset. Together with my teammate, Venz Ang, we competed against many talented students. We performed well in the Easy and Medium rounds, but in the crucial Extreme round, a last-second mistake caused us to fall to fifth place from second place.

Although we failed this time, it does not mean I will give up. I will learn from this experience, return stronger, and continue striving to become a better mathematician, as this is my comfort zone.

"Grade 10 Moving Up to Senior High School"

In my final year as a Junior High School student, I reached what I consider the pinnacle of my student life by earning the prestigious With High Honors award. It is an achievement that many students dream of attaining. Although I reached it by a narrow margin, it does not change the fact that I was able to accomplish it.

This success would not have been possible without the support of many people, especially my parents, friends, and classmates, who guided and encouraged me throughout the journey.

As I begin my first year of Senior High School, I will strive to maintain this achievement. This experience proves that with determination, skills, and the right mindset, anyone can reach their dreams.

"Division Science and Technology Fair 2025"

Held in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte, the Division Science and Technology Fair 2025 brought together young scientists from different schools, showcasing their creativity, innovation, and critical thinking skills.

This event marked a moment where I truly demonstrated my abilities. With a sharp mind, focused preparation, and skills developed through dedication, I gave my best performance. Although I did not secure the gold, I managed to make my teachers and coaches proud, and that achievement means just as much.

This year strengthened my mindset. In the next competition, I aim for nothing less than excellence. No more flukes, no more inaccuracies, only precision and growth.
Wait for me, DSTF 2026. My redemption arc is coming, and it is coming strong.
