FARMERS RECEIVE FUEL ASSISTANCE

The City Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Office, in coordination with the City Agriculture Office and with the assistance of on-the-job trainees (OJTs) from Gingoog City United Colleges (GCUC), successfully distributed fuel assistance cards to 79 pre-qualified farmers on March 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the City Agriculture Office Grounds.

The distribution was attended by City Councilor Rodrigande Miole, Chairperson of the Committee on Agriculture; the ABE team led by Engr. Francis James O. Manlantao, Assistant City Agricultural and Biosystems Engineer; and the City Agriculture Office team led by Mr. Ram Shurab S. Landiza, Officer-in-Charge City Agriculturist.

The fuel assistance initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture through its Regional Agricultural Engineering Division (RAED) of the Regional Field Office X (RFO X), is intended for farmers who own or lease agricultural machinery and equipment. Beneficiaries are required to be registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and must be active members of recognized farmers’ associations.

The program aims to assist farmers engaged in mechanized farming operations by helping offset fuel expenses. This initiative is expected to enhance farmers’ resilience and mitigate the impact of rising fuel costs on agricultural production.

TURNOVER OF WATER SYSTEM PROJECT | BRGY. MIMBALAGON, GINGOOG CITY

The Local Government of Gingoog City successfully turned over the newly completed Water System Project to the residents of Brgy. Mimbalagon.

The turnover ceremony was attended by Honorable Mayor Erick G. CaΓ±osa, the ABE Team led by Engr. Francis James O. Manlantao, and Brgy. Captain Joy Aquino together with the barangay council and functionaries.

Funded under the CMO-ABE 20% CDF 2025, this project marks a significant step toward providing the community with a safe, reliable, and sustainable water supply, ensuring improved health, convenience, and better living conditions for all residents.

πŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈNovember 3–6, 2025, the Department of Agriculture–Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (DA-MIADP) Region 10 conducted a Training on Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) Surveying Equipment at NMACLRC, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. The 4-day training aimed to enhance participants’ technical knowledge and practical skills in RTK surveying for accurate data collection, processing, and interpretation in agricultural and engineering applications. Participants gained hands-on experience in equipment operation and software use, ensuring their competency in project planning and implementation.
Engr. Jhoann A. Condeza and Engr. Megan Rose P. Ladao from ABE–Gingoog City participated in the said training. This capacity-building activity underscores MIADP’s commitment to strengthening the technical capabilities of field engineers and agricultural practitioners toward precision and sustainability in agricultural development.

October 29-30,2025, the LPMIU of Gingoog City together with the DA MIADP Region10 coordinated the Joint Technical Review (JTR) held at Harbor lights hotel and restaurant, Gusa, CDO to review and finalize the Ancestral Domain Planning and Social Preparation, which supports Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) in transitioning from subsistence farming to organized, market-oriented production. This component provides technical assistance and focuses on sustainable management of ancestral domains, considering cultural context which targeted the Organized farmer and fisherfolk groups in selected ancestral domains.

Engr. Jhoann A. Condeza, from CMO-ABE, joined the 2-day seminar to actively participate in the review and validation of the Ancestral Domain Planning and Social Preparation component, ensuring that the proposed interventions are technically sound, culturally appropriate, and supportive of sustainable livelihood development for the ICCs/IPs. Together with her were Mr. Ram Shurab S. Landiza, R.Agr (Acting City Agriculturist of Gingoog City), Engr. Joel V. Sinatao (CPDO Overseer-Gingoog City) and IP members from Gingoog City who also took part in the discussions and consultations.
