A cybersecurity expert has issued an urgent alert following the discovery of a massive leak that exposed around 183 million passwords and email addresses, primarily affecting users of Gmail and also Outlook and Yahoo. Australian expert Troy Hunt explained that the data—about 3.5 terabytes of information—doesn't originate from a single breach but rather from multiple files collected through malicious software that steals credentials and distributes them online. Hunt urged users to check if their accounts have been compromised via the Have I Been Pwned site and recommended changing passwords. Google, on the other hand, clarified that it has not suffered a new breach, although it encouraged strengthening account security and enabling two-factor authentication.
