NO FILIPINO SHOULD BE LEFT IN THE DARK

[STATEMENT] The IIEE XUSC stands in solidarity with the Filipino people during this national energy emergency. Following Executive Order 110 and the Energy Regulatory Commission’s (ERC) suspension of Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) operations, we recognize the severe impact of the ongoing Middle East conflict on our local power supply.

As student engineers, we view the current surge in costs as a challenge requiring both our expertise and our empathy. In the spirit of Magis, we advocate for energy sovereignty and sustainable innovation to shield the marginalized from the shocks of global instability.

We call upon the engineering student body of the Philippines to rise as the vanguard of a resilient nation, ensuring that no Filipino is left in the dark.
