Anchored on the 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐇𝐀 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚 of 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐂. 𝐃𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐥, the initiative reflects CSU’s commitment to create and develop strategies that enhances the institutional competitiveness through innovation, creativity, and purposeful development.

The writeshop brought together stakeholders and experts from both the Butuan and Cabadbaran Campuses to refine two strategic initiatives—the 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 and the 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧—both of which are aligned with the 𝐂𝐒𝐔 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 (𝐋𝐔𝐃𝐈𝐏). These plans operationalize CSU’s twin visions: the 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 and the 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, guiding the University’s transformation into a technology-enabled and environmentally responsible campus.

The writeshop was spearheaded by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐕. 𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐒𝐔 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧, supported by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐓. 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨 as the 𝐂𝐨-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞, and with the 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐄𝐂𝐎) 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫, 𝐀𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐁. 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐥 — facilitating the sessions. Alongside committee members, university stakeholders, and experts, they led collaborative planning sessions that shaped innovative and sustainable strategies for CSU’s strategic direction toward a sustainable and technology-driven campus.

Through this initiative, CSU reaffirms its commitment to becoming an EcoSmart University—one that 𝒆𝒙𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝒆𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒅𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 in pursuit of a smarter and greener future for the Caraga region and beyond.

𝗨𝗽 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗦𝗨 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮-𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲: 𝟭𝟬 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀

CSU is a learning community supportive of its stakeholders' development and welfare. In sustaining academic excellence, the university recognizes that pushing for excellent and sustainable infrastructure is vital. Relevant to this, the university is thrilled to share its latest infrastructure projects that will benefit its estimated 17,560 students.

In the next two years, six (6) academic buildings, one (1) center, and three (3) long-awaited dormitories will rise simultaneously on both the Main and Cabadbaran campuses. The said projects have an allocation of Php 912,690,031.60.

The Engineering and Construction Office (ECO) conducted a two-day Pre-Construction Meeting on April 2-3, 2025, in preparation for the Completion of the Ladies and Gents Dormitory project. The meeting served as a platform for discussing project timelines, technical specifications, roles, and responsibilities to ensure smooth implementation.

Attending the meeting were representatives from the Engineering and Construction Office (ECO), the Office of Campus Safety and Security (OCSS), the General Services Office (GSO), and the Financial Management Services (FMS). Also present were the contractors responsible for the respective dormitory projects: Reyrose Construction and Supply Development Corporation, which will implement the construction of the Ladies' Dormitory, and the BN Builders Construction and Supply, which will implement the Gents’ Dormitory.

During the session, key topics included project scope, construction schedules, safety protocols, site coordination, and compliance with regulatory standards. The contractors presented their work plans and commitments to timely completion, while the university offices provided guidelines to ensure that the facilities would meet the needs of the students. Discussions also covered logistical support, material procurement, and financial reporting to align with institutional policies.

The pre-construction meeting concluded with a collective agreement on responsibilities, coordination mechanisms, and periodic progress monitoring. With a shared commitment to quality and efficiency, all stakeholders are now set to commence the construction phase, ensuring that the dormitory facilities will soon provide a safe and conducive living space for students.
