There are so many posts circulating on Facebook right now about house construction, claiming they saved money by hiring a “non-technical person” to lead their construction since they were able to build a two-storey house or apartment for less than ₱1M or half of its true construction cost.
I’m not against people trying to make a living, but we have to ask: what’s the difference between them and licensed professionals—Architects and Engineers?

Our names and licenses are tied to the structural integrity of your dream home for the next 15yrs—ensuring it won’t turn into a nightmare, especially during natural disasters. Lets take note that building a house does not only involved buying materials and erecting the structure at a whim without any basis. It also involves, planning, design, and proper construction method ensuring the house and structure complies to the building code and our NSCP.
So when you decide to build your dream space, ask yourself: are you really saving in the long run if you hire just a “non-technical person” instead of a licensed professional?
Keep in mind—the Philippines is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world with wind speeds reaching up to (or beyond) 250 kph, and sitting on the Pacific Ring of Fire, with an average of 3.2 seismic events daily, and at least one Intensity VI (damaging) earthquake occurring every year.
Can your typical non-technical contractors guarantee that your house or structure will last its intended lifespan? Have you really saved anything if, during a disaster, your dream house turns into a nightmare?
At the end of the day, it’s still up to you how you choose to spend your hard-earned money when building the dream spaces you call “HOME.”
