L&T Modular Fabrication Yard The Modular Fabrication Yard at Sohar, North Oman is located in what is termed as the ‘gateway to the Gulf, in proximity to the ports of Muscat and Dubai.

It serves the oil rich Gulf region and North Africa. The yard is the largest such facility in Oman, with the attendant advantages of being contiguous with the Sohar Industrial Port. The Sohar facility has an all-weather captive jetty with break water and is geared for fabrication and load-out of complex complex Onshore and Offshore like Integrated Process Platforms, Wellhead Platforms, Large Jack

ets, Living Quarter Modules, Compressor and GTG Modules, PAU, PAR and PAM Modules, Jack-up Rigs and LNG Modules. State-of-the-art facilities for fabrication, testing and load-out of ultra-large structures include automatic plate & pipe profile cutting machines, plate bending machines, automatic shot-blasting and painting facilities, automatic pipe spool fabrication facilities, plate girder fabrication facilities, state-of-the-art valve test bench, covered warehouses and in-house testing laboratories. The yard also has heavy-duty crawler cranes, Goliath cranes and a range of other material handling equipment. This facility is certified to: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and has Certificate of Authority to use the API monogram for products manufactured as per specifications API 5L & API 2B and is also authorize to use ASME ‘U’ & ‘S’ stamps and NBBI’s ‘R’ stamp. The yard was judged ‘Best Offshore Construction Yard’ in the GCC region at the Marine International Maritime Awards ceremony in 2011. A joint venture with the Zubair Corporation, Oman, this facility is committed to the development of local skills and conforms to all local regulations. A welder-training centre has been set up in the campus. Trade related training is imparted to the local youth.
