Oman Desert Marathon

Oman Desert Marathon The Oman desert, with its immense dunes and lush palms, is fascinating. The Oman Desert Marathon is a 165 km race run in four stages.

Born in 2013, the Oman Desert Marathon is a self-sufficient 165 km race with five stages, including a night stage, across the spectacular Omani landscape and its varieties, from the Oasis Al Wasil, crossing the desert to the Arabian Sea We invite you to take part in an exceptional marathon adventure, one of the most extraordinary sporting events on sand, and an extreme challenge in the amazing and

beautiful desert scenery. The dunes extend beyond the horizon, and the hospitality of its inhabitants is known around the world. The spirit of the ancient caravans can still be felt in this amazing atmosphere, encouraging not only top athletes, but also less energetic runners. Runners carry their equipment, their sleeping bags and their food during the adventure

Every woman who laces up and steps onto a trail makes the trail bigger for the next one. June 1 is Women's Trail Day, a global initiative by ITRA - InternationalTrailRunning Association to bring more women to the trails. At ODM, we want to see more women out there, at every level and every pace. Whether you walk, hike, or run, this is about moving together, connecting with the land, and discovering nature one step at a time.

Connect! Move! Run! Hike!

See you in the desert. 🏜️

From the dunes of Oman to the pages of 4Running Magazine. We are proud to share that our runner from Italy, Lupano, has written a powerful firsthand account of his experience at the Oman Desert Marathon and it's featured in Issue 02 of 4Running Magazine

Mario a 25-year mountain running veteran, stepped out of his comfort zone and into our Desert, finishing on the shores of the Arabian Sea. His article doesn't just describe the race. It captures the silence, the fear, the joy, the errors, and the hard-won wisdom that only the desert can teach you.

🚨 Feeling inspired? Registrations for the next edition of the Oman Desert Marathon are opening soon.

Oman celebrated home success with SALEH Alsaidi's bronze in 165km and a stunning 1-2 finish in men's 100km—SULEIMAN al khatri and YUSUF alnaabi separated by just 15 seconds after five days.

Stage 4: Night Stage

Drama at the finish line today as Moroccan brothers crossed separated by a single second after over 4 hours of desert racing.

Men's 165km:
1st - ELMORABITY Rachid (MAR/Team TGCC) - 4:28:54
2nd - ELMORABITY Mohammed (MAR/Team TGCC) - 4:28:55 (+1")
3rd - KHALID Al Farsi (OMA) - 4:42:12 (+13'18")

Women's 165km:
1st - AZIZA Elamrany (MAR) - 6:24:37 2nd
- AZIZA Raji (MAR) - 6:24:40 (+3") 3rd
- Dr. NATALIE Taylor (GBR) - 6:37:38 (+13'01")

Today's stage used a reverse-speed wave system:

12:00 - Slower-pace runners
13:00 - Middle-pace runners
16:00 - Fastest runners

This strategic approach ensured all athletes could complete safely while allowing competitive racing dynamics.

The women's race delivered its own sibling drama, the Aziza Elamrany and Aziza
Raji finished just 3 seconds apart after over 6 hours of desert racing. Morocco's siblings are putting on a masterclass.

One stage remains. Tomorrow crowns champions.
