Frameless Sliding Windows - Overlay vs Insert Slider - which one?
Aluminium frames are out, more glass is in! So which option of our frameless slider do you choose?

Overlay sliders provide a bigger opening because the frame sits outside the aperture/cut-out in your vessel, but they do require top and bottom rails of your aperture to be parallel, just like a framed slider.
A single-track frame is neatly tucked away outside the aperture, under your roof line, and we will work with you during the design process to get the biggest opening whilst giving a minimal appearance to the frame. The end result is a more glass, less, aluminium look to your window that will match your direct glazed front windscreens much more seamlessly.

Insert Sliders are for the more adventurous designs. They don't require the top and bottom of the aperture/cutout to be parallel, as we create a parallel frame within the fixed piece of glass.
We called them Insert Sliders because we take a larger direct fixed window, and we "insert" a sliding window into the middle of it.
They are more technical, and therefore more expensive than an Overlay Slider, but they allow more creativity in your vessel design.

Here are some photos of each type that we have supplied, from inside and outside views.
If you have questions, send us details of your design to [email protected] so we can help recommend the best option for your build.

Did you know SeaMac have been refining and striving for excellence in the marine industry for 30 years now!

We couldn't have done this without some of our loyal customers.

Let us introduce you to one of those customers, Kinetic Catamarans, by showcasing their 54ft "Ultimate Carbon Cruiser".

A spectacular vessel, these are a worldwide collaborative to supply the doors, windows and state of the art glass which we are very proud to be a part of, as the vessels are built in Knysna, South Africa.

Check out more about this stunning vessel at Kinetic Catamarans site here - https://www.kineticcatamarans.com/kc54

Thank you so much to our friend Ben from Built to Fish TV for this review of the double bi-folding doors we supplied to his Surtees Boats 800GF... with a special surprise we threw in on the glass, just for him! Thanks for the review Ben!

Proud to be working with the StabiX team on their newest model. Check out the size of the opening on those side windows!

At SeaMac we love to work with our clients to create doors and windows that compliment and enhance the other features of the build.

Custom is what we do! What can we do for you?
