East Coast Heavy Diesel and Machinery is currently recruiting for an experienced Parts Interpreter with inventory experience. This role is located at our premises in Whakatane. We are a family-owned business, with family values at our core.
Key Responsibilities for this role
Parts Interpreting:
• Identify and interpret parts requirements using catalogs, software, and manufacturer systems
• Assist customers in selecting correct parts.
• Provide accurate pricing, availability, and technical information
• Process sales transactions, invoices, and purchase orders
• Process stock orders and Day orders
• Liaise with suppliers to source parts as required
Inventory Responsibilities:
• Monitor stock levels and maintain optimal inventory quantities
• Conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts
• Receive, inspect, and correctly store incoming stock
• Process returns, credits, and warranty claims
• Maintain accurate records in the inventory management system
• Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock
• Ensure proper labeling and organization of parts
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Previous experience as a Parts Interpreter or similar role
• Strong technical knowledge of automotive/heavy equipment parts and systems
• Experience with inventory control procedures
• Proficiency in parts catalog software and inventory systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office, ERP systems)
