We’re excited to see a new Aquafit class launching at Tawa Pool, giving members and locals another way to stay active in the water.

Aquafitness is a great low-impact way to improve cardio fitness, strength, mobility, and confidence in the water, suitable for a wide range of fitness levels.

With Aquafitness classes available across multiple pool locations, there are more ways to work out your way with ClubActive.

🚨 Update: Reopening Wednesday – see latest post for details 🚨

Kia ora ClubActive whānau,

With the Red Rain Warning and State of Emergency in place across Wellington, all ClubActive services across the network will close early today and remain closed tomorrow.

This includes gyms, pools, and all group fitness classes.

We’re taking this approach to support staff safety and respond to the changing conditions across the city.

Our plan is to reopen on Wednesday if it’s safe to do so. We’ll keep you updated here on our page as things progress.

Thanks for your understanding. Stay safe and look after each other.

🚨 REGIONAL STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED

A State of Emergency has been declared for Wellington City and the surround region following severe weather. This allows emergency services to respond quickly and keep people safe.

What you need to do now:
⚠️ Move away from low-lying or flood-prone areas for the next 24 hours
❌ Stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary
✔️ Follow instructions from emergency services
🏠 Stay home if it is safe and avoid floodwaters or damaged areas
🌊 Never walk, swim or drive through floodwater
⬆️ Evacuate immediately to higher ground if water rises
⏱️ Don’t wait for an official alert if you feel unsafe
💡 Secure loose items and prepare for possible power outages
🤝 Check on neighbours, whānau and anyone who may need extra support

If you need help:
📞 Call 04 499 4444, for welfare support.
🚨 In an emergency, call 111

An Emergency Assistance Centre has been established in the Wellington City Mission in Oxford Terrace to support people who have been evacuated from their homes.

To report weather-related issues:
Call 04 499 4444, email [email protected], use the FixIt App, or fill out our webform: https://services.wellington.govt.nz/report/

🎶 Big weekend in Wellington, Ultra Music Festival New Zealand is here!

Kia ora ClubActive whānau,

This Friday 10 April, Wellington hosts something pretty special.
ULTRA New Zealand is landing on the waterfront for the first time, bringing one of the world’s biggest electronic music festivals right into the heart of the city.

With around 23,000 people expected, it’s a huge moment for Wellington, and there’ll be a real buzz across the city 🌆

👉 What this means for your visit to Freyberg

If you’re heading into ClubActive Freyberg for your usual workout, swim or class, everything’s running as normal.

There will be increased activity around the waterfront near Te Papa and Taranaki Street, with some road closures and restricted access in that area.

Access via Oriental Bay remains open, but you may notice more traffic than usual. Allow a little extra time getting in and out, and follow any signage or directions in place.

For full event and access details, check out the Events and festivals page on the Wellington City Council website. https://wellington.govt.nz/news-and-events/events-and-festivals/ultra-new-zealand

Great to see Wellington coming alive with events like this, we’ll be here as usual, just expect a bit more buzz around the area. 🙌🤟
