Engineers connected across the motu in April through a mix of learning, site visits and social events.

In Tāmaki Makaurau, members came together for a panel discussion to explore the future of infrastructure planning, delivery and the economic trends impacting Auckland’s engineering community – hosted by the Auckland Branch and GHD with the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission, Watercare and Auckland Council.

In the Bay of Plenty, engineers took part in a guided tour of the $60M upgrade at Rotorua’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, while in Southland, members headed onsite to Mercury Energy’s Kaiwera Downs Stage 2 wind farm.

Massey (Manawatū) Student Engineers hosted a relaxed movie night, while in Ōtautahi Christchurch, Canterbury Young Engineers led a panel discussion on recovery alliances and collaborative delivery models. In Whakatū Nelson, members joined an exclusive walkover of Port Nelson’s new mobile boat hoist facility, and in Waikato, Young Engineers wrapped up the month with a quiz night at The Cook.
