aland, Australia and around the world. The machine manufacturing had its beginnings in the 1980’s on a small orchard of only 160 trees. With the need to process the nuts once the first harvest was underway, only to find there was nothing available to dehusk or crack the nuts. This led to the design and building of the first prototype machine for use in our own orchard. Word soon spread that we had built something that actually worked and we manufactured several more machines over the following years to help out fellow small growers around New Zealand. With the overseas demand for machinery to process nuts growing we put together a purpose-built workshop to design and manufacture machinery, leading to the start of the Crackadamia® brand around 18 years ago.
