Waimate2gether needs your help! We’re looking for community sponsors to help bring Waimate’s history to life—one mural panel at a time. 🚂🎨🚲

Local artist Bill Scott will create a large-scale mural of the historic Old Waimate Railway Station, forming a colourful welcome point at the beginning of the Waimate Sculpture Trail and new Walk and Bike Trail.

We need 26 plywood panels in total, and four have already been generously donated. Could you, your business, family, club or group sponsor one of the remaining panels?

This project will be much more than a mural: local schoolchildren will learn large-scale mural painting with Bill, community members will have opportunities to paint, and the finished work will celebrate Waimate’s heritage for locals, trail users and visitors for years to come.

Help us bring Waimate’s history to life—one mural panel at a time!

Waimate2gether is looking for local businesses, groups, families and individuals to sponsor a plywood panel for an exciting new community mural at the former Waimate Railway Station site.

Local artist Bill Scott will create a large-scale mural of the historic Old Waimate Railway Station, marking the beginning of the Waimate Sculpture Trail and the new Walk and Bike Trail.

This will be far more than a mural:

- Local schoolchildren will learn large-scale mural painting with Bill.
- Community members can help paint a panel and watch the artwork come to life.
- The finished mural will be a permanent welcome point for locals, trail users and visitors.

We need 26 Strong Structural Plywood 14 CD H3.2 backing panels in total (17mm x 1200mm x 2400mm) — and every sponsored panel helps get us closer to completing the project in September.
