Message from the Sustainable South Canterbury Trust
The Sustainable South Canterbury Trust (SSCT) is excited to announce a new opportunity to lead our growing organisation as Manager. This full-time role is the key operational position within the Trust, responsible for steering both the Crows Nest Timaru and the Eco Centre. The Manager will oversee the retail operations, ensure financial sustainability, lead a team of staff and volunteers, support the Eco Centre programmes and site development.
We are seeking an experienced and people-centred leader with strong operational, financial, and communication skills, ideally with a background in sustainability, not-for-profit management, or retail/resource recovery. The successful candidate will work closely with the SSCT Board to implement strategic initiatives, contracts, grow community partnerships, and help shape future developments such as new site infrastructure. This role offers flexible work arrangements, a supportive team culture, and the chance to make a meaningful environmental impact in South Canterbury.
