Over 25 years, the Pegasus has changed more than most people realise. In the final video of our 25 Years of Pegasus series, founder Bob Sievwright reflects on how far the machine has come:

"This mower here has probably got over a hundred changes on it since the original mower. And the feedback always comes back from the customer and the dealer network and their dealer reps. What we've managed to do over the years is reduce the maintenance requirements.

This mower has no daily maintenance. The bearings on the rollers have no maintenance, and we've got a three-year warranty on them. We've developed a new blade, the Nexablade, that's an option. But the changes are endless, really. I guess it's a very good example of taking a really good concept and just ensuring that we progress, improving the machine all the time. Low maintenance is a key element. And the other one, of course, is that it mows beautifully in all conditions."

25 Years of Pegasus, Story 4: A 19-year-old Pegasus, freshly refurbished and ready for a few more years of work. That's the machine belonging to Ben Haines,, in the UK, who uses it across Burnham Golf Range and his turf business, Somerset Turf Supplies.

In his words:

"I believe it's a 19-year-old S2 493 which we have had for many years. We had just fully refurbished it with all new blade spindle bearings and blades, ready for a few more years working. We use it for cutting the outfield at our golf range, Burnham Golf Range and my turf business, Somerset Turf Supplies. It gets a lot of use but is always reliable and leaves a superb finish."

Nearly two decades in, still reliable, still cutting to a superb finish.

There are Pegasus mowers still working in the field today that are more than 15 years old. For founder Bob Sievwright, that's the real measure of success.

In the next video of our 25 Years of Pegasus series, Bob reflects on what it means to see machines still going strong after all these years:

"There's a lot of long-serving Pegasus in the field. It's pretty amazing to see how many we've got out there. You see some machines that are fifteen years or more old that are still functioning. That's a great feeling. I think the key to this is you don't do this on your own, you do it with a great team. That comes from the design team, the guys in the field, the marketing crew, the service crew, the parts support. You don't end up with a machine with this reputation without all those elements working together."

A month ago, our New Zealand marketing team flew across the ditch for a week on the road in Australia, visiting five Trimax customers to capture their stories and see our mowers in action.

From racecourses to turf facilities, we went behind the scenes to meet the people using Trimax every day and hear firsthand about their experience with our equipment.

We’ve got four new customer stories on the way, with our first from Moe Racecourse coming soon.

Stay tuned over the coming weeks to hear their stories and see Trimax mowers in action across Australia.

The world's first Pegasus demonstration happened in 2001, in a park in Central London, United Kingdom. Nobody watching had seen anything like it.

Founder Bob Sievwright shares the story in the next video of our 25 Years of Pegasus series.

Jim McEwen, Trimax's R&D Manager, was on site that day: "The guys' jaws dropped about a mile when it started off."

We have the original footage from that very demonstration, still being used today to tell the story of where Pegasus began.

Trimax is coming to GroenTechniek Holland 2026!

For the first time, Trimax will be exhibiting at GroenTechniek Holland and we're looking forward to meeting customers, industry professionals and potential partners from across the Netherlands.

Stand 2.34
16-19 September
Biddinghuizen

Our stand will feature three of our commercial rotary mowers: Snake S3, Striker, ProCut S5.

We'll also be highlighting our latest innovation the Trimax OptiAdjust. Available on the Pegaus S5, OptiAdjust allows operators to change the height of cut instantly from the tractor cab - helping reduce downtime, increase productivity and deliver a precision finish.

We're investing in the Dutch market and looking to build strong relationships for the future. If you're interested in Trimax mowing solutions, want to discuss our range or are interested in distribution opportunities in the Netherlands, we'd love to meet you!

Come and find us on Stand 2.34!

Reel mowers cut well, but they come at a cost: a high purchase price, heavy maintenance, and long periods of downtime. Trimax set out to change that.

In the next video of our 25 Years of Pegasus series, founder Bob Sievwright explains the thinking behind taking on the reel mower industry:

"We had proven that we had a very good rotary double-roller cutting mower with ProCut. So there was an opportunity to take on the reel mower industry with a three-deck rotary mower, building a machine that was more productive, more cost-effective, and had longevity."

The result was a mower with cut quality to rival reel mowers, without the price tag, the maintenance, or the downtime.

25 Years of Pegasus, Story 3: The 5th Pegasus ever built to UK specification is still working today, and it's clearly been looked after.
That's the machine belonging to Neal Harper of Glendale Services in the UK. In his words:

"This machine started life in our Lewisham contract in London, which we still have, but now resides near Luton cutting school grounds every season as needed. It's getting a bit tired now but still puts in a decent shift when asked. Not sure the serial number plate is correct as it's been painted, and our records show us as having it possibly since 2002."

Possibly 23 years old, and still on the job. When it's not in use, it's wrapped up snug in tarps, a small detail that says a lot about how it's been cared for.
