Truck Driver – Class 5 (Specialist Role – Test Weight Truck)
SI Lodec is seeking an experienced Class 5 Truck Driver for a unique and varied role—not your standard driving job.
This position involves operating our Test Weight Truck, travelling throughout the North Island to support the testing, calibration, and certification of weighing systems across a wide range of industries including:
- Logging and forestry operations
- Bulk material transport fleets
- Groundspreading and rural contractors
- Quarrying and civil sites
What makes this role different?
This is not linehaul or metro freight work. You’ll be working alongside our technical team, playing a key role in ensuring compliance and accuracy for some of New Zealand’s largest transport operators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate SI Lodec’s specialist Test Weight Truck
- Travel extensively across the North Island
- Assist with on-site testing and calibration of weighing systems
- Work closely with technicians and customers on-site
- Maintain high standards of safety and professionalism
What we’re looking for:
- Full Class 5 licence
- Strong driving competency across varied road conditions (including rural and forestry environments)
- Practical mindset and willingness to learn technical aspects of the role
- Good communication skills – you’ll be dealing directly with customers
- Reliability and a professional approach
