Thinking about recladding your home in Canterbury? Start with the planning, not the product.
A reclad is a significant project, and the best results usually come from getting the key details sorted before requesting final pricing or booking a builder.
Some of the main things to consider are:
the condition of the existing cladding and wall structure
whether the home will be fully or partially reclad
wall measurements, gables, windows, doors and external corners
the cladding profile and appearance you want
insulation and exterior-envelope upgrades that may be worth considering
builder availability, site access and delivery requirements
whether plans, drawings or council information are available
For older Canterbury homes, it is also worth thinking beyond the immediate reclad. Ongoing painting, maintenance, thermal comfort and the long-term appearance of the home can all affect which pathway makes the most sense.
VCNZ can help with the early product and supply planning by reviewing plans or measurements, explaining the available cladding options, providing samples, and preparing a project-specific estimate. Installation, design and compliance remain with your builder and project team.
