The customers who come in and see us know we have been busy lately !! And i appreciate the understanding that i will get to your jobs . But when the main job takes up most of the shop theres only so much i can fit in.
That large job was this mud setup for Subsurface Civil & Drilling Ltd that supports their Ditch Witch horizontal drill rig.

The setup used to sit on the back on its own truck but after a restructuring of fleet and the Kenworth hook set up we built a few months back, the call was made to have that tow it around instead .

We started off building a flat deck which was a mix of channels, flat plate and cad drawn parts. This then got painted and sealed so the large twin 3000L tanks , mixer units and piping could be run. A galvanised box section frame was made over top with some style in mind . Clad with gloss white acm panel and black trims. We reckon this looks the part and now off to harrissigns_graphix for some logos to be added.

🔥 We had Paul from All Good Smoke BBQ bring his trailer in for mods recently.

Small adjustments to make his life easier , while serving up good quality low and slow bbq meat. 🥩 🔥

On that list was a shelf that hung off the main window frame to hold sauces, serviettes and drinks.
Next was to bring the fryers higher up. A shelf made in the gap that also can be removed was fabricated , all out of stainless.
Lastly the original range hood stuck half out into the working space, we took 200mm out which bought it inline with the bench and higher up but importantly stops the bruises from walking into it.

We thank Paul for in-trusting us with his job and look forward to seeing him out and about round Canterbury. 🦍

Alittle more Corten in-between our other work of late.
Fast becoming the go to for local gardens , with inquiries every week for the people who want their own custom touches.
This round are tree rings/corten rings , made to order with the first bunch made for oasislandscapes_nz . These can be used to make that ornamental tree stand out or create a raised garden.

Quick trip to Kaikoura for the weekend. Where we also got to deliver this Corten letter box with black accents, then mounted into an old Jarrah telephone post. The client gave us a simple sketch and i think we smashed it!! The patina over time is going to blend in great with the rustic post.

How about this ‘Moongate’ we fabricated from Corten steel and installed recently!! .
Derived from Chinese landscape design, symbolizing the moon, birth, and renewal. These can also be used to frame a focal point in the garden or seperate areas.
This is no rolled box section like ones found elsewhere. We used a combination of rolled Corten sheet and profiles to construct the 2.2m ring . Fully welded and sanded then patina’d all in-house,

Abit of a theme last week at the shop. 8! Corten planters made and off to various places around the city.
1 of which was to go with our facebook giveaway a couple of months back.

Personalised gifts are one of the best ways to show someone that they mean something to you and at Field Fab we like to bring that vision forward.
What started out as the clients Dads old junk cutters and an AI render was turned into a side table to sit that brew on while watching the game 🏉.
We cut down the wire cutters to there preferred height , added a thicker base for some low down weight and a thinner top with holes for that beautifully finished walnut slab. We then wire brushed and oiled the steel work to make this statement piece pop.
