The Maniototo Adventure Park outdoor ice rink is open from 11am to 4pm today and then from 6pm for our annual Ice Dance Costume Party. The ice is in great shape, the sun is shinning and being on the ice is a great way to experience winter. Tonight there will be music, food (hot dogs or fish nuggets with hot chips, hot chips, sausage sizzle, hot & cold drinks and sweets), games and the All Blacks on TV. Fun for all the family - $5 school children, $10 adult or $25 family.

Great last day today at Ice Camp. Our campers put on an exciting hockey game and entertaining ice skating exhibition to conclude an amazing week. Huge thanks to the rink staff, all our volunteers and our skating, hockey and curling coaches. We look forward to seeing everyone back again next winter when hopefully we will have the luge open again. ⛸️🏒🥌🛷

Unfortunately, uncooperative weather until just recently, and other factors mean that we don't yet have a luge track and now it is too late to build the track for the school holidays. As the school holidays are usually the two biggest weeks revenue wise for the winter, sadly the Maniototo Adventure Park has decided not to open the luge track this winter. While this is out of our control, it is devastating for New Zealand Luge as it means we can't offer luge at the annual Ice Camp, hold our Luge Camp, have any training time or run any races. It also means that there won’t be any public luging in Naseby this winter, the only ice luge track in the Southern Hemisphere. Sorry and see you in 2027!
