I was fortunate to get the call up recently to hop onboard Mile Zero with Wayne, Nic and Bradley for a hard and fast 23hour weather window Bluefin trip. I had never caught a Tuna on a jig before and was keen to tick that box. After steaming through the night 70nm northeast of Whitianga and arriving at 4am we started to mark small schools of tuna on the sounder 50-70m below the boat in 2200m! We pretty much had immediate success and proceeded to catch 4 nice Bluefin tuna between 30-50kg on the jigs and when daylight greeted us caught another 4 Bluefin on lures.

Big congrats to angler Zak Ramsey on scoring the Raglan Sportfishing Clubs 24kg line class record with a hard fought 5hour Swordfish battle yesterday, weighing in at 136.2kg!
