We're proud to share that our very own Micheal Cunningham has been named a finalist for the 2026 Steel Construction New Zealand (SCNZ) Apprentice of the Year Award!

Micheal has shown outstanding dedication and leadership throughout his time at George Grant Engineering, progressing into a site foreman role and earning excellent feedback from clients along the way.

His hard work, positive attitude and commitment to his team make him a valued part of GGE.

Supporting the Next Generation of Tradespeople in South Auckland

At GGE, we’re proud to support Papakura High School’s welding programme through the donation of steel, helping students gain valuable hands-on experience and develop practical welding and fabrication skills.

We recently received a message of thanks from the school, noting that access to quality steel makes a significant difference in helping students complete their projects and build confidence in their trade skills.

We value our relationship with Papakura High School and are pleased to support their students and teachers as they build the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

Supporting local education and skills development is something we’re passionate about, and we look forward to helping where we can.
