It's National Safe Work Month in Australia, a good moment to ask a simple question.

How many of the jobs in your warehouse need to be done by hand?

Heavy lifting. Long walks with loaded trolleys. Reaching into high racking. Working next to forklifts in tight aisles. These are the jobs that wear people down and cause many warehouse injuries.

We’re finalists!

Automate-X has been named a finalist in the Automation, Robotics or Emerging Technology category at the ASCLA Industry Awards, recognising the work we delivered together with CDB Group.

The CDB Group automation project brought together technology, engineering and practical problem-solving to tackle a real operational challenge, and it’s fantastic to see the work recognised by the industry.

No heated suits. No rotation schedules. No 20 minute shift limits. Just a 4-way shuttle system doing the job humans were never built to do in -25°C.

For years that's just been accepted in this industry. If you want your frozen goods stored properly, someone has to go in there and do the work. Rotating shifts, heated gear, strict time limits because the human body simply isn't designed for that kind of cold.

We got to be part of a project that changes that equation. A 4-way shuttle system running inside a -25°C freezer, moving stock around the clock without a single person needing to step inside.

And the best part? It's not about replacing people. It's about removing them from an environment they were never meant to work in, and putting that time and energy somewhere it actually makes sense.

This is what automation should be doing. Not chasing hype, just solving real problems for real people.

Massive credit to the team, 4way shuttle partner and the client for trusting us to build something like this. Projects like this are why we do what we do.
