GDE Transport Engineers & Certifiers Ltd We provide high quality Transport & General Engineering and Heavy Vehicle Certification. Gary Douglas Engineers is a family run business, established in 1972.

We started by building concrete batching plants and quarry plants, then branched into structural steel for commercial buildings and general engineering. Later, we began branching into transport engineering, and this is now our core business.
45 years and three extensions later, the current workshop size is 2000 square meters, with another off-site store building of another 2500 m2.

We currently have 40 workshop staff, some of whom have been with us for 20 years. Many of our staff are fully qualified tradesmen, including fitters, turners, fitter-welders, fabricators, auto-electrical, Spray painters, and more. We have our own design team, including an NZ Land Transport Agency-approved Heavy Vehicle certifying engineer.
The workshop is fully equipped with standard equipment, and any specialised equipment required is readily accessible from our partners & well-known ISO9001-certified Tracgrip Hydraulics & Equipment in Palmerston North.
