Tolerances Matter
Precision is the difference between a part that fits perfectly and a part with problems.
Some components need a tolerance of ±0.02mm. To put that into perspective, a human hair is about 0.07mm thick – so we’re machining to less than half a hair’s width. At that scale, even tiny variations can affect how a part moves, seals, carries load, or interacts with other components in an assembly.
CNC machining gives us the ability to hit these numbers consistently across short runs, long runs, and repeat orders.
Tighter tolerances mean smoother operation, reduced wear, better efficiency, and longer lifespan. When your project relies on precision, tolerances matter – and at Cranston Engineering, we’ve got tolerances locked down.
