How do you keep CLT ceilings exposed without sacrificing acoustic performance?

We’re joining forces with CSIRO at the upcoming Australian Acoustical Society (Qld Div) Technical Meeting to present recent acoustic testing results on our Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) and concrete assemblies.

The presentation focuses on the data from the exposed ceiling configuration. This assembly uses the Batten & Cradle™ floor system, SRT™ (Sound Reduction Tile) and products from Etex, which are positioned above the CLT slab. The system has the capacity to retain a fully accessible cavity for wiring and piping above the slab, removing the need for a concealed ceiling cavity below.

Proud to be part of another successful Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities project in Taranaki!

16 brand new, one-bedroom Kāinga Ora homes are now complete in Taranaki, and we are proud to have our Batten&Cradle system specified.

In medium-density, multi-unit developments like this, managing floor-to-floor noise is critical to resident comfort. Our Batten&Cradle system was utilised to provide acoustic management between the levels.

We’re back from a successful weekend at inter.noise 2026 in Adelaide!

It was a privilege to showcase Batten and Cradle’s sustainable acoustic flooring systems at the 55th International Congress & Expo on Noise Control Engineering. We were especially excited to launch our new Exposed CLT Configuration - tailored to exceed acoustic standards while leaving the natural Cross-Laminated Timber exposed.
