SWAT 2026 has wrapped up in Texas, so... who was there? 🇺🇸

We've been seeing plenty of photos and posts coming through from Waco over the weekend, and it looks like there was a lot happening!
For those of us who couldn't make it, we'd love to hear from the people who were there.

Who’s heading to the Woodturning Weekender in Doncaster this weekend? 🇬🇧

It looks like it’s going to be a fantastic weekend of all things woodturning, and we’re pleased to say Woodcut Tools will be there too!

Our great friends and Woodcut supporters Marei Hoiz and Nathanel GR will be demonstrating over the weekend. They both know and use Woodcut Tools, so if you’re attending, make sure you stop by, say hello and have a chat with them.

You’ll also find Woodcut Tools with Yandles, our UK distributor. Make sure you stop by and say hello to and the Yandles - Yandle and Sons Ltd. , who will have Woodcut Tools available throughout the weekend.

A great demonstration from our South African distributor, Creative Turning, showing the Pro-Mount being put to work.

One of the key features of the Pro-Mount is its two independent locking levers. These allow you to securely lock the stand into position, helping keep your work stable and secure while you carve, sand, decorate or add those finishing details.

And a reminder for our South African woodturners 🇿🇦, Woodcut Tools are now available locally through Creative Turning SA!

When a crack becomes part of the design. 👏
Working with a natural material like wood means things don't always go to plan. When this maple bowl cracked during the drying process, Bean Benson saw an opportunity to turn it into something beautiful.
And this is where the Pro-Mount comes into its own.
The Pro-Mount allows you to take your work directly from the lathe to your carving or detailing setup, while keeping the piece securely held in the chuck. Once you've finished, simply return it to the lathe and continue turning.
It's a great example of how the Pro-Mount can open up more creative possibilities beyond the lathe.
We love seeing how Bean has transformed this split into a feature rather than a flaw.

A little woodturning knowledge from our good friend Ronald Kanne in the Netherlands 🇳🇱

Ronald has been a friend and distributor of Woodcut Tools for many years, and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to woodturning.
In this video, Ronald demonstrates our Solid Shaft Gouges and explains two of the features that make them a little different.

The solid shaft helps reduce vibration and provides stability while turning, particularly when working further over the tool rest.

Ronald also demonstrates the 19mm Bowl Gouge with its 55° bottom feeder profile, designed to help you work through the transition and across the bottom of a bowl.

Every Woodcut Tools product starts with a challenge.

Around 2010, Australian professional woodturner Brendan Stemp wanted a simpler way to produce peppermills. Rather than changing between multiple drill bits, he wondered if there could be a single tool that drilled the entire hole.

Brendan brought the idea to Peter Hewitt, and together, working alongside the woodturning community, they developed what became the Mill Drill.

Today, the Mill Drill has helped thousands of woodturners save time and simplify peppermill production. It's also a reminder that some of the best ideas come from listening to fellow turners and working together to solve everyday challenges.
