SEASONAL PACKHOUSE WORK FEBRUARY - JUNE
Monday - Friday 7am – 4.30pm
We are now looking for staff wishing to work in our packhouse for the 2026 season.

Orchard Supervisor

CAJ is a successful pipfruit business in Central Otago, New Zealand, known for growing premium apples, which are exported across the globe.

Our biggest asset, and focus is on the wellbeing and health of our staff, making CAJ an enjoyable and supportive place to work.

We are offering positions for skilled individuals to work in our
Teviot Valley and Earnscleugh orchards as an Orchard Supervisor.

This is a fixed-term role, from approx. second week of February 2025 to the first week of May 2025.

If you:
• enjoy working in the outdoors,
• have horticulture experience (preferred not essential),
• feel confident leading staff,
• are fit and self-motivated,
• have a current driver licence,
• have an eye for detail, and
• are comfortable with technology,
then this could be the job for you!

Training and mentoring will be provided for the specific tasks of the Orchard Supervisor role.

Tractor Driver

We are offering positions for experienced Tractor Drivers to work in our Teviot Valley and Earnscleugh orchards.

This is a fixed-term role.

• have experience driving a tractor (minimum of 1-2yrs preferred),
• available to work from approx. second week of February 2025 to the first week of May 2025,
• are self-motivated, and
• have a current driver licence,
then this could be the job for you!

JOB VACANCY

CAJ Apples has a permanent, full time vacancy at CAJ Juice at Coal Creek.

You must have a forklift licence and be reasonably fit and healthy. This is not a seasonal position.

Our team at what we refer to as The Cannery – because once upon a time it was the Roxdale Apricot canning factory – is small and hardworking and have each other’s backs. If you believe you are a great team member, are not afraid of hard work at times, can work unsupervised and just get on with the job – we would love to hear from you.

Full training in all aspects of the job will be given but you do need the forklift licence. If you happen to be good with those little engineering type jobs then all the better. If you have any questions please email [email protected].

CAJ APPLES HAS A VACANCY FOR AN EXPERIENCED ORCHARD WORKER.

Full Time, permanent, experience in orchard work is a necessity - and in an Apple Orchard - even better. Experience with sprays/chemicals and sprayers, Growsafe, good communication skills, a commitment to solid Health and Safety procedures and a reasonable level of basic computer skills.

This position is based at Roxburgh East at one of our 7 apple orchards.

We currently have two specialized job vacancies at CAJ for people who are committed to living and working in the Teviot Valley.

JUICE FACTORY OPERATOR
CAJ Apples is committed to an environmentally sound approach to business. For this reason we operate a processing factory where our reject apples are processed into apple concentrate. Our processing factory is looking for a full time permanent worker to assist with the operation of the factory.
Some experience in the food processing industry would be desirable however not necessary but the successful applicant for this job will have the following attributes:-
Punctuality and reliability
Mechanical aptitude
Forklift licence or experience
Good problem solving skills
Good communication skills both written and oral
The ability to remain calm under pressure with a happy disposition
Physically fit with a can do attitude and the desire to work in with a small but amazing team.

PACKHOUSE DISPATCH CO-ORDINATOR
Our apple packhouse in Ettrick is looking for someone to co-ordinate the planning and dispatch of our packed product. While our packing work is seasonal it is envisaged that the successful applicant will be able to work at least the 6 months of the season as well as return from year to year.
This would suit a well organized person who can multi task with excellent skills in planning and logistics
You will learn how to understand export contracts and be able to develop good relationships with customers, liaise with orchard managers regarding picking and packing stages for weekly planning, be accurate with data entry and have an eye for detail.
Good communication skills are essential.
Accuracy is a key skill for this role which you will find both rewarding and challenging.

This role is a part time seasonal role with a start date in mid-February running until mid-April. The hours of work will vary and will gradually increase until mid-March when they will begin to taper off. This position would be suitable for a “local” or anyone with a relevant work visa.

To be considered for this role you need to be:- Organised, energetic, fit, good with computers/data entry, attention to detail and the ability to focus on the task, well organised, flexibility with time and the ability to self manage.

A clean drivers licence and vehicle is also required but no experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
