Position Overview:
Harmer Earthmoving Ltd. is seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be capable of transporting various materials and equipment to and from job sites while adhering to safety regulations and maintaining a high standard of professionalism. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that our projects run smoothly and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a commercial truck, including flatbeds and dump trucks, to transport materials and equipment to designated job sites.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload materials.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with team members and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.
- Assist with light maintenance and cleaning of the truck as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications:
- Valid class 5 driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in trucking, preferably in the construction logging or earthmoving industry.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

About the Role:
As an Engineer with Harmer Earthmoving Ltd., you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of a variety of heavy machinery, ensuring peak performance in demanding environments. Key Responsibilities:
🔧 Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment.
🔧 Perform hydraulic system troubleshooting and repairs.
🔧 Conduct servicing and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
🔧 Work with diesel engines, transmissions, and final drives.
🔧 Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
🔧 Carry out fabrication and welding as required.
🔧 Ensure all work complies with New Zealand safety regulations.
🔧 Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

What We’re Looking For:
✔ Trade qualification AND or extensive hands-on experience in engineering.
✔ Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills under pressure.
✔ Experience with major machinery brands (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Scania, MAC, Volvo)
✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
✔ Proficiency with workshop tools
✔ Full NZ Driver’s Licence
✔ Flexibility with working hours, including breakdown call-outs.
