CONGRADULATIONS TO OUR SELLEYS DOUBLE DO-UP WINNER!
Levin local wins $20,000 and gives back to community heroes.
Levin builder Raymond Smith is celebrating a major win — sharing $20,000 in prize money with his local community.
As the winner of the Selleys Double Do-Up promotion, Ray has received $10,000 for himself and selected the Levin Fire Service to receive another $10,000, recognizing the vital role they play locally.
Ray, 34, is a qualified builder and a proud hands-on renovator.
“I’ve always had that DIY mentality — I’m the builder, the painter, the tiler, the landscaper… everything,” he said.
He entered the competition after purchasing Selleys products during a renovation project for friends — a brand he regularly uses on the job.
While the personal prize will help him work towards financial goals, including paying down his ute, it was the opportunity to support his community that stood out.
“I wanted to give back locally, and the Levin Fire Service does an incredible job. They’re volunteers and deserve support for the work they do every day,” Ray said.
Chris Kennedy, Senior Station Officer and Manager Region Training Te Ūpoko, said “We are one of the busiest volunteer brigades in the country, and support like this makes a real difference,” Kennedy said.
“This contribution will help us continue our work and better serve our community.”
