We’ve just wrapped up a project at Seaview Rise 📍

This new townhouse development in Rothesay Bay, Auckland, offers views across the Hauraki Gulf and beyond, all from a prime corner location close to local amenities.

Working alongside Taylored. and Faith Landscapes, we helped complete the picture with 1.2m high Premier fencing. A great fit for the modern design, creating functional front courtyards that will only look better once the hedging fills out in spring!

Commercial fencing is one of those things that can catch teams out late in a build 👇

On paper, it looks straightforward. But once you factor in site access, ground conditions and sloping terrain, costs can shift quickly.

With margins already tight, the right supplier and system choice makes a big difference.

Meet Charles Butler our new BDM for the South Island 👋

Charles has joined the team with a strong construction background and plenty of experience working on-site.

You’ll probably spot him somewhere between Christchurch and the rest of the South Island, catching up with customers, meeting new people, and supporting projects across the region.

When asked what stood out about Urban Group so far, Charles summed it up pretty simply:

“It’s a proper family business—no fluff, just good people who actually back the customer-first mindset.”

Safe to say he’s fitted in pretty quickly already.

Outside of work, he’s a fan of seeing projects go from nothing to finished, reckons Christchurch is a hidden gem with plenty happening, and runs on spiced chai most days ☕

We’re stoked to have him on board and excited for what’s ahead in the South Island.

If you’re based in Christchurch and want to connect, reach out and say hi to Charles 🤝

Most fencing products on the market weren't designed with schools in mind.

Residential and commercial specs frequently fall short of Ministry of Education requirements, and that gap becomes your problem onsite.

Partner with a supplier who knows exactly what's needed for school and ECE projects, from compliant panel specs to engineer-approved PS1 documentation. Less risk, smoother consents, better outcomes.

Te Kura Rau Iti is all wrapped up in Flat Bush 📍

We partnered with Form Construction and Contrax Greenscapes to deliver over 500m of fencing for a brand new $41m primary school.

Fully assembled and delivered to site before the summer break, the fencing was ready for installation before the new school year started.

Great to see it all come together 👍

What better way to show our customers some appreciation than a day out on the water!

Back in February, we had an incredible time hosting some of our valued customers aboard the Kiwi Angler, cruising along one of New Zealand's most beautiful stretches of coastline. Great people, stunning scenery, and memories made. That's what it's all about.

A massive thank you to everyone who came along and made the day so special. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Fence permeability isn’t just a compliance checkbox - it’s often the difference between a smooth approval and a stalled project.

Most councils require around 50% openness for residential boundaries. With variations across zones, it’s easy for designs to fall short without even realising.

Aluminium systems like Aventis make it easy. With adjustable batten spacing (30–50%) and fully raking panels for sloped sites, designers can meet permeability requirements without compromising intent.

The result: a cleaner approval process and a design that holds up from concept through to completion.
