What a fantastic morning to wake up for Kiwi motorsport fans. It is Bathurst 1000 race day today and 3 Kiwis have qualified in the top 10 shootout. I won't tell you which ones are in which place and spoil it for those of you that haven't watched to shoot out yet. Shane van Gisbergen has his Nascar Xfinity race starting shortly and has qualified fastest to take the pole position for the start. A good chance of finishing in the top few if not winning this one and advancing to the next level in the play offs for the overall championship win in his rookie season. Also in the practice for the Nascar Cup race to be run tomorrow he has set the fastest time in practice so also good signs for that one too. And next the one nearest to my heart, over night Hayden Paddon has been competing in the final round of the FIA European Rally championship and is comfortably leading and in the box seat to clinch the title for the second year in a row and the only non European based driver ever to win the championship last year and about to double that up with a second championship win this year if tonight's stages go as planed. I am not a religious person but if I was I would be saying "praise to the Gods of Racing for this day".
