Bit of some wood restoration today.
All ready for Painted By Jess to do her restain work.
No pressure used to fur up and mark the soft cedar as seen in the before pics. Im sure the home owner will be well pleased with the outcome once finished.

Have to love our changing office views some days

3 years ago at this time we were down in the Hawkes bay helping with cleanup after the devastating floods. You couldnt comprehend what you were seeing/smelling unless you were there. Yes that is a caravan perched up on top of a hedge. And yes that is mud/silt inside a building. Water levels on the walls showed it was nearly totally underwater.

We either send our used chem containers back to our suppliers to be re used but occasionally we come up with other ways to use them like this rotating composting bin I made for my wife.

Many will say pressure washing is the only way to remove black mold. With multiple applications of the right cleaning solution this was removed with about 150psi rinsing power.

This year we helped out supplying a house wash to our local Waimauku Primary School for their ag day fundraising. As my wife works for a charity i know first hand how hard it is to get funds in these days so we will always help out if we are able.
Today I was chuffed to get a hand written thankyou card from some of the students. How cool is that.

Please please please if you are not experienced in cleaning stained cedar please don't try. This has now become a full restoration job and not just a wash. Although this property was in need of a redo anyway the high pressure marks will take alot more work to get it back to a stainable surface again.
