Heavy-duty alloy drop-in truck sides 🔥

Another custom fabrication job out the door at Thomson Fabworks.

These heavy-duty alloy drop-in sides were fabricated to suit this Kenworth for U B Contracting Ltd, giving it plenty of strength and capacity while keeping weight down. Built with 4mm folded alloy for the sides and a 5mm matching alloy tailgate to finish it off.

We also fabricated the drop in stanchions and altered the headboard of the truck during this build.

👋 A little update from us!

We’ve been pretty quiet on here for a while now, so we thought it was probably time to pop back up and say hello!

Life has been a little crazy behind the scenes. Between running Thomson Fabworks, keeping up with work and our fast-growing little family, posting on social media has definitely ended up at the bottom of the to-do list more often than not 😂

But we’re still here and very much still going!

Dale has been keeping busy in the workshop and out on jobs, while I’m usually somewhere behind the scenes keeping everything else ticking along (often with kids in tow 😅).

For anyone new here, we’re Dale & Ashley, and Thomson Fabworks is our small family-run welding and fabrication business based in the Far North. We take on everything from repairs and those little “can you make/fix this?” jobs through to custom fabrication and bigger projects in steel, stainless and alloy.

We’ve got a bit of a backlog of jobs and photos that never made it onto here, so you might start seeing some of those pop up!

And a big thank you to everyone who continues to use us, recommend us and support our little family business. It genuinely means a lot. ❤️

We may have been quiet on here, but we certainly haven’t disappeared! 🔧

After a super busy year of absence on our page we have resurfaced following a long awaited end to the gorge project.

We have started making XXL fireboxes that we have an option to turn into a cooker or spit as well.

Looking forward to slapping a steak in there🥩
