Great to see NZIC featured in Lyttelton Port Company’s latest Annual Report!

The story looks at our journey since our first Lyttelton shipment in 2024 and the strong partnership we’ve built with LPC as we continue to grow our cement supply operations across the South Island.

A lot goes into every shipment, and strong relationships with LPC and our wider network of partners have been key to making it happen.

A milestone worth celebrating for NZIC.

We were pleased to welcome customers, suppliers and project partners to mark the official opening of our Christchurch Cement Load-Out Facility.

The facility represents an important investment in NZIC's South Island operations, designed to strengthen the reliability of cement supply while delivering a more efficient and resilient operation for the future.

It was great to celebrate this milestone alongside the people and businesses we work with and recognise the effort that went into bringing the facility to life.

We're pleased to introduce Yong Seng Ng, who has joined NZIC as our Supply Chain Lead.

Seng brings more than 16 years of experience with Shell, where he worked in trading operations based in Singapore. He also recently completed his Master of Supply Chain Management at the University of Waikato, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role.

Seng has recently relocated to Christchurch with his wife and two young children and is looking forward to becoming part of the local community while helping strengthen NZIC's supply chain operations.

Please join us in giving Seng a warm welcome to the team.

NZIC visited Vietnam in April to oversee the loading of another 30,000 tonnes of cement destined for New Zealand.

As part of our commitment to quality assurance, NZIC travelled to Ha Long Bay to monitor the loading of the vessel Ken Jyo and collect cement samples directly from the ship's holds, ensuring product quality met the required standards before departure.

Joining the visit was Jocelyn, Director of HW Richardson Group, NZIC's parent company, who took the opportunity to see the operation firsthand. Alongside coming on board the vessel, she also visited a local cement manufacturing plant to gain a deeper understanding of the production process and the wider supply chain. Not one to simply observe, Jocelyn even climbed into the ship's hold to collect a cement sample herself in 40°C heat.

Visits like these are an important part of maintaining quality standards and ensuring NZIC continues to deliver reliable products to our customers.
