John McKenzie Automotive, is a locally owned and operated Automotive business serving the whole of Invercargill region. We offer a FREE drop off and pick up service into town while you do the messages, shop or work in town. We also have a Parts department which stocks and sources all mechanical parts.

Automotive Technician Position

John McKenzie Automotive Ltd is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified automotive mechanics/technicians who would like to join our team.

This position may very well suit someone who has the desire to be self employed into the future. Exciting ownership opportunities may be available to the successful applicant.

Located in Bond Street we aim to provide the highest level of service to our extensive client base. We perform a full range of automotive repairs and servicing and also specialise in the repair and rebuild of manual transmissions.

We provide various other services including some dismantling, parts supply and we are also Southlands leading seat belt supplier.

Our well equipped and spacious workshop ensures we provide excellent working conditions.

If you:

• Have relevant automotive qualifications
• Have very high personal and work standards
• Have a sound knowledge of modern diagnostic and repair systems
• Have high customer service skills
• Are able to work unsupervised
• Are a team player

Knowledge and experience with manual transmissions would be an advantage but not a requirement.

A current WOF authority is preferred but not essential.

Comprehensive training and support opportunities will be provided to the successful applicant.

We are currently looking to fill the following position :-

PARTS CO-ORDINATOR

John McKenzie Automotive has a new General Manager and due to business growth, we are currently seeking applications from suitably motivated and skilled individuals who would like to join our friendly fun team as our parts Co-Ordinator.

This is a permanent full-time position that will involve the hands-on co-ordination of our parts sales to our workshop and trade customers and sales of our seatbelts and rebuilt exchange gearboxes and diffs. You will also meet and talk on the phone to a lot of our customers, so a high level of customer service is required.

Applicants should ensure that they have the following: -
• Automotive industry experience
• Ability to provide the highest level of customer service
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Must be able to work as part of a great team
• Sound computer and technology skills
• High personal standards and attention to detail

If you have a strong desire to achieve customer satisfaction and enjoy a challenge that is rewarding, we would love to hear from you.

In house training of our systems will be provided. An excellent remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant.

Dear valued customer

With Christmas fast approaching we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support in 2021. We would like to remind you to book in early to avoid the Christmas rush with your W.O.F (which can be post-dated up to two weeks) and Servicing of your vehicle.

John McKenzie Automotive Ltd will be closed from 5pm on Thursday the 23rd of December and re-opening at 7:45am Monday 10th January 2022.

Malcolm McLean joined our team this year as General Manager. We are currently advertising for a Parts Co-ordinator to also join our team as the need for second hand parts continues to grow. Exciting times and a positive looking new year for John McKenzie Automotive.
