Big day at JJ Ltd today. Geoff Sadlier, a well-known name in Southland’s ag sector, is celebrating 45 years with us!
Geoff is passionate about his customers, sales, and a Valtra tractor, and it all started in the family business, working alongside his father, Eoin Sadlier.
After serving his time as an apprentice motor mechanic with PH Vickery Ltd in Invercargill, Geoff joined JJ Ltd as a road salesman in 1981. He stayed on the road until 1989, when Eoin’s retirement as Manager of the Gore branch was approaching.
The plan was for Geoff to take over the running of the branch when Eoin hung up his hat in 1990. What nobody planned was that Geoff would fall in love with and marry Evelyn from the office (who we celebrated just recently).
Geoff went on to run the Gore branch and serve as a company director. Since his recent semi-retirement, he’s back doing what he does best, selling, out of our Invercargill branch.
Managing Director Paul Jones says: “Geoff has given 45 years to this business, and it’s hard to overstate what that has meant for JJ Ltd, particularly in Gore and across Southland. He genuinely cares about his customers and has built relationships over decades that go well beyond the sale.
We all really appreciate everything Geoff has put into the business, and we look forward to many more years of him being part of the team.”
