An excellent end-of-year prize giving evening was held last evening. Congratulations to Mr G on his organising skills. The evening started with an International Dinner, with food supplied by the 16 nationalities attending the school. Most enjoyable. This was organised by Alice Wright.
Then the country items, e.g. Phillipines, India, Wales and more!
The prize giving ceremony broken into two parts wth the Active Culture leading the way.
Well done to all the children.
Marty (Mr G) presented Miss B (Rachel) with a beautiful bunch of flowers as she has completed her two years of teaching and is now a qualified teacher.. Miss Baynes (Ruby) has one year to go.
He also touched on the teaching staff and their wonderful abilities.
As it was the final year for Pippa T (a member of the Thwaites family) Mr G had reserved two VIP seats for the grandparents, Tony and Prue. The Thwaites family, like the Olivers, are taking a hiatus from having children at the school just now. I also received a magnificent floral tribute.
Both families have had six generations attending the school.
Thank you to Hororata Primary School and Mr G!

After nearly three years of dreaming, planning, and designing, our schoolโ€™s nature path is finally a reality! ๐ŸŒฟ

With incredible support from Synlait crew Sarah and Nicky Halley plus help from Ingrid and our amazing parent volunteers the Kฤkฤpo kids planted around 100 native plants today โ€” creating a space where birds and insects can thrive. ๐Ÿ’š

Weโ€™ve also started upgrading our garden โ€” and the tunnel house is next! Exciting times ahead as our nature path and gardens continue to grow! ๐ŸŒฑโœจ

In the process the old tractor tyres are looking for a new home so if you can put one to use...maybe a good old fashioned back yard sandpit let us know!

Calling all Parents/Caregivers!

Weโ€™re looking for 1-2 volunteers to take charge of coordinating our food stall at the Hororata Highland Games (and in addition to this we will be needing helpers for the day). Itโ€™s a great chance to bring our community together and create something special.

This event raises funds that go directly back into supporting your kidsโ€™ school, so your help will make a real difference.

We do hope to be able to keep this wonderful opportunity going so if you are prepared to help as a coordinator or volunteer on the day please Contact Anita on [email protected] ph 0211109037 by 17th August
