Not all conventional orchard ladders are designed the same.

And once you start looking closely at how they’re actually used day after day, you begin to realise the biggest challenge often isn’t the ladder itself - it’s the workflow around it.

We’ve broken down the different ladder types commonly used across orchards in NZ and Australia, where they work well, and where many growers start looking for alternatives.

A good reason to look at Hydralada Machines and how they can safely improve efficiency.

Long pruning days can take a serious toll on orchard teams.

Constant climbing, carrying and repositioning all adds up over the course of a season - especially during peak pruning pressure.

That’s why more growers are starting to focus not just on machinery, but on the entire ppruning workflow itself.

The Hydraloppa helps operators move more continuously through rows while reducing the physical demands that come with traditionapruning methods.

Small workflow improvements can make a huge difference over an entire hpruning season.

Every arbor crew knows the real bottleneck isn’t always cutting - it’s processing.

Reliable chipping equipment keeps crews moving, reduces cleanup time and improves efficiency across the entire job site.

Bandit chippers are trusted globally because they’re built for serious daily use in demanding conditions.

Built tough. Built to work.

When the setup is right, everything flows.

Dan Peach is loving his new Hydralada Hi Lift 360H - the perfect size for working his poly covers, with a comfortable 4.5 metre working height.

Out in the rows, the impact is immediate. Jobs that used to take time and effort are now quicker, smoother, and far more efficient. One of Dan’s favourite features? The foot controls - keeping his hands free so he can stay focused on the work itself.

And it’s paying off.

Under the covers, his strawberries are thriving. With a controlled microclimate, he’s able to manage the elements and create the right conditions for strong, consistent crops.

We’re proud to support growers like Dan with Hydralada machines - built to make a real difference day to day.

Some jobs just demand the right setup - and working at height is one of them.

This is Gurpreet Singh taking delivery of another Hydralada machine, ready to get straight into installing overhead protective canopies.

For Gurpreet and the team at Bay Coverage, it’s all about working smarter and safer. Being able to operate up to 6 metres high - even on uneven, unprepared ground - makes a huge difference when it comes to getting the job done efficiently.

While they’re currently focused on kiwifruit developments, their work spans across any crop needing protection. From hail and wind to bird control, protective netting is quickly becoming a must-have in modern horticulture.

We’re proud to support Bay Coverage with Hydralada machines - and to see the quality of work Gurpreet and his team continue to deliver.

Some operators just get on with it - and Andrew Horopapera and Linda Pivac are a perfect example.

Known across the Bay of Plenty for their work with avocado growers, they’ve built a strong reputation by doing things properly and showing up season after season.

With a Hydralada Maxi 640 and their new Maxi 802h Tandem Drive, they’ve got the versatility to handle a wide range of orchards - from picking fruit during busy harvest periods to keeping on top of winter pruning.

It’s the kind of work that requires the right gear and the right mindset.

They’ve also made smart use of their Timberwolf wood chipper, turning prunings into mulch and putting that value straight back into the land.

We’re proud to support Andrew and Linda with Hydralada machines - and to see the quality of work they continue to deliver.

Building a new orchard takes more than just planning - it takes the right people, the right process, and the right tools.

This is Mike Buchanan and his twin brother Peter, alongside Joe in the Hydralada. They’re part of the team behind kiwifruit orchard development for Baygold in the Bay of Plenty, leading the work that brings new orchards to life.

From installing trellis systems to setting up protective canopies and shelter structures, it’s hands-on, detailed work - and they do it to a seriously high standard.

You can also see how much they genuinely enjoy what they do and where the industry is heading.

We’re proud to support Baygold Ltd with our machines, and even prouder to see the work being done by teams like this out in the field.
