✨ March Club Day 2026 ✨
✨ Cadet Mini Rok Driver of the Day ✨

Just me and the little man yesterday ⚡
It wasn’t perfect… but it was the best day we’ve had racing yet.
Which just proves - it’s not in the outcome… it’s in the way we show up and smile through adversity & growth 💫
Cici was buzzing to be driving clockwise - the opposite direction to previous Club Days. First time running the full track this way and he absolutely loved it 😍
You could see it… his excitement carried straight into his driving.

There were 5 in his field and he sat at the back of the pack most of the day - but this wasn’t about position.
This was about learning.
Working on holding speed and finding his edge ⚡
Building skill, confidence, and those cognitive layers that racing quietly demands.

We had a rookie pit-māmā moment too 😂
Sent him out in the tuning run on 8psi - got held up in scrutineering, ran out of time… you already know 😅🤫
But we reset, checked the list, and got it sorted before Heat 1.
(Thankfully he still thinks mum’s the bees knees 🫶🏾)

Heat 1 & 2, Cici is always quiet…
Taking it all in - the kart, the track, learning the rhythm.
Then Heat 3 & 4… something switches ⚡🥷🏾
Fire in the belly.
Fastest times dropping.
Confidence rising.

As the heat of the day kicked in, we focused on the basics - sun smart, hydrated, staying chill ☀️
(Recovery with a 7-year-old can be the real race 😅)

Final + GP were all about consistency.
Holding his lap times. Finding smoothness.
And man… he nailed it ⚡ his smiles were ear to ear!
Totally unfazed by the chaos -
His mates jumping some starts, spinning karts, karts flying past him…
he just stayed in his lane, doing his thing.

And honestly? That’s the win. 💙... Now to prepare for April Club Day 😤😍

Hey everyone 👋🏾 Club Day Recap coming in 🔥

Yesterday was mega fun and we celebrated a milestone in our karting journey with Acicia attending his first official competitive Club Day at KSHB!

🔷 First scrutineering
🔷 First drivers’ brief
🔷 First tuning run
🔷 First time lining up on the grid as an official Club Day competitor
🔷 First heat & first GP
🔷 First time smashing race day PBs… at 7 years old!

He was in a field of confident and speedy peers, but that didn’t wipe the smile off his face. He wasn’t racing for trophies or awards - to be honest, he was racing himself for a box of Nutri-Grain, we keep it simple round here, ha.
He pulled pole for the GP and the video shows (in our biased opinion) the cleanest and steadiest formation of the day for the group of young racers! He held his position until the lights went out and stayed steady into 3rd by corner two 👏🏽
Lots of learning - not just on track but off it too. It was super hot, so hydration and being sun smart were key, and the boys nailed all of the above!

Campbell had an epic day racing and he’s named it his best day’s racing to date and we couldn't agree more, his mauri maia was strong on this race day. Not all parts of the day went his way, but through the art of sportsmanship and overcoming competition-day adversity, he too is smiling ear to ear with some solid moments to bank and progressive learning to take with him into meetings to come.
We celebrated his first heat win of his racing journey and his fastest lap times to date in that same heat; this was a truly profound and inspiring moment for Campbell, as many racers and athletes may understand. We then hit the grid for another heat where he drew pole, holding the lead defensively - only to have his engine adjustments shift and he threw a chain, but he climbed his way to finish the day 2nd overall, with a hard-fought 3rd in the GP.

A Solid effort, solid results - proud of the way they raced.

What a day 🔧🏁

We are filled with gratitude beyond measure to have been given the opportunity to attend the February Caffeine & Gasoline Car Show in Heretaunga today.

To .media — ngā mihi nui for your aroha and tautoko toward our son. Opening this door for him at such an influential age of 15 gives him a space to channel his focus, share his story, and feel seen and heard within his own community.
That kind of support matters more than you may know.

Campbell is heading into his second racing season, more driven than ever. The work happens long before the lights go out — in the shed, on the tools, in the mindset.

He’s currently focused on securing sponsorship for Blossom 57, a 3-day event held at CCR Raceway over the first weekend of September. Events like this build not only race craft, but character, resilience, and vision.

Let us introduce ourselves…

Kia ora community - we’re the Hanssons.

Not your average whānau, and we Love it that way.
Pāpā & Māmā H are raising a crew fuelled by curiosity, passion and horsepower - Cam, Luca, Noah, Cici, Tara-Grace, Phoenix, and our four-legged co-pilot Machida 🐾

Born and raised in Central Hawkes Bay, we grew up in the era where streetlights meant “time to come home” and paddocks and riverbanks doubled as our first skid tracks. That freedom shaped us - and it still lives in our bones.

What we all share is simple:
A love for the feel of a shifter in hand, the grip of a steering wheel or handlebars, and the sound of a well-tuned engine. Rotary, petrol, diesel - if it hums right, we’re in. ⚡

Our passion for grease, engines and speed is deeply generational. Handed down through grandparents and parents from a time when bigger was better, speed was experimental, and innovation was born through hands-on learning. The stories, the wisdom, the “those were the days” moments - they live on now through us, and through our children. An honour we carry proudly.

James is the mechanical heartbeat of our whānau - with over 20 years’ experience working across European and Japanese vehicles, right through to heavy machinery. Skilled, curious, and grounded in the belief that Precision and Care matter.

Margaret’s love for cars met James back in high school (we’ll save that story for another day) but goes right back to trips with her dad to Thunder Park Drag Strip in Hastings in the early 90's. She became the quiet whisper of encouragement - backing James to finish his apprenticeships, stretch their confidence, and follow the pull toward broader horizons. Always driven by one thing: Passion for Living Life Fully.

The kids?
They have an organic affinity for speed, machines, shiny interiors and moving parts — something we recognise deeply. So we’ve chosen to steer our whānau-waka toward what lights us all up, together.

How are we in September already!?

Just a little update — we’ve been pretty quiet over winter with personal commitments…

James has been full-on with mahi at his regular job after a role change earlier this year, and in his spare time he’s been spinning spanners for himself and the boys (mostly Campbell), who’s diving into competitive Go-Karting. 🏎️

As the days get longer (kia ora daylight savings!), we’ll be taking bookings by appointment only – no same day/call-out services. This helps ease the pressure as we juggle the thick of 6 grommets and life around our whānau. It won’t always be like this, but right now this is the way we can best serve you.
