CSR Engineering started in January 2020 by Hawke’s Bay born, husband and wife team Sam and Chelsey O’Connor. Sam has more than 15 year’s experience in the engineering industry coupled with a certificate in Mechanical Engineering his knowledge is vast and there isn’t much he can’t figure out. Chelsey is the Office Administrator for CSR but comes from an Optical background of 12 years, with a certif

icate in Optical Dispensing. Starting out in a small workshop in Fernhill, Sam was the sole engineer and Chelsey did the administration work in the evenings. Fast forward to one year later and CSR Engineering has expanded across two workshops and has eight full-time staff members. The CSR Team have built a reputation for themselves as highly-skilled, dependable engineers. Transport:
-All LT400 repairs that require certification
-Shortening or extending of truck chassis
-Roll axels back or forth on a truck or trailer or add additional axels
-Truck deck or body swaps
-New truck or trailer builds to suit customer’s needs
-General repair and maintenance work required on light or heavy transport equipment

Marine:
-General repair and maintenance
-Rebuild/Overhaul of trailers
-Mounting capstans and minnkotas
-Custom modifications including engine swaps, fabricating and fitting of cray arms

General engineering:
-All engineering requests
-Custom trailer builds - 3.5 tonne and under
-On Site Work
-Hard facing on heavy machinery

As we wrap up another fantastic year, we want to say a huge thank you for your support. It’s been a pleasure working with you, and we’re grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us throughout 2025.
