Welcome to Puketaha Farm Services!
We've been a bit quiet lately - that's because we were up to something π
For years, Steve has been building AMFS from the ground up. Like any small business owner knows, it hasn't always been easy. Business is hard work, and the costs of running a workshop and keeping a business going add up quickly. There are always overheads, equipment, rent, power, rates and a hundred other things quietly eating away at the bottom line.
We recently have been given a gift - we found a beautiful rental in Puketaha, with a humble shed, plenty of space and a community that we quickly fell in love with, and want to contribute to.
It also had Steve a bit of a realization.
With his background in conservation, 4wheel driving, rural living and community work, he has always been happiest outdoors, working with his hands and around people. The more time he spent thinking about it, the more he realized the concrete jungle, corporate way of doing things is not where he wants to be. He wants to be home, he wants to know his neighbors, he wants to build relationships and help build a community that looks after its own.
And that's where the idea of Puketaha Farm Services was born.
We fix what's broken: wether it's farm equipment, machinery, plastic, something that needs repairing or a bit of creative thinking to make it work - Steve's the man for the job.
We're going back to old school values:
Reuse, Recylce, Renew, Rethink.
Not everything needs to be thrown away and replaced. Let's fix it, let's reuse it, let's look after the land and it's people. - that's the kind of business we want to be.
So, AMFS has become Puketaha Farm Services.
It's a new name, but it's still just us - doing what we do best.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. We wouldn't be here without you π
