The Waikato region is home to one of the largest aluminium manufacturing hubs in Australasia, second only to South East Queensland.

From aluminium extrusion and finishing through to window, door, and building product manufacturing, the sector supports thousands of skilled jobs and a wide network of suppliers, contractors, transport providers, and service businesses.

A strong local manufacturing sector delivers more than economic value. It provides employment opportunities, supports regional communities, develops technical expertise, and strengthens New Zealand's industrial capability.

As manufacturers, we understand the importance of fair competition. The increasing volume of imported products can have a significant impact on local production, investment, and job security across the aluminium manufacturing sector and its supporting industries.

Supporting New Zealand manufacturing means supporting New Zealand jobs, skills, innovation, and regional prosperity.

Keeping it local!

We were pleased to welcome Dr Myra Williamson, Labour candidate for Hamilton West, to our Hamilton Mill operation this week.

As part of our commitment to promoting the importance of New Zealand manufacturing, we regularly engage with industry stakeholders, community leaders, elected representatives, and political candidates from across the spectrum.

During the visit, we discussed the role of local manufacturing in supporting jobs, regional economies, investment, and New Zealand's industrial capability. We also highlighted the importance of job security across the aluminium manufacturing sector and the many supporting industries that rely on a strong and sustainable local supply chain.

Thank you to Dr Williamson for taking the time to learn more about our operation and the opportunities and challenges facing manufacturers in New Zealand.

Huge congratulations to Daniel and the outstanding Nebulite® Taranaki team – Winners at the 2026 Window & Glass Association NZ Design Awards (Residential – Lower North Island
category) for House on Mill.

This is an exceptional result for a project that proves great design isn’t about scale—it’s about ingenuity, precision, and intent.

On a constrained urban site, this project is a masterclass in getting every detail exactly right. Through clever joinery design – including custom shrouds and carefully considered glazing – the team has created a home that feels open, private, and full of light, all at once.

What makes this even more impressive is how seamlessly performance, cost-conscious thinking, and architectural expression have been balanced. It’s thoughtful, refined, and incredibly well executed.

This is exactly the kind of project that pushes boundaries and redefines what’s possible in residential design.

A massive congratulations to the entire Nebulite Taranaki team – this is an outstanding and richly deserved win.

Huge congratulations to Andrew, Chris, Petr, and the exceptional Raylight Aluminium team at Nulook® West Christchurch – Winners of the Commercial - South Island category at the 2026 Window & Glass Association NZ Design Awards for their Cotters Lane project.

This is an outstanding and richly deserved win for a team that has delivered something truly special. Damaged in the earthquakes and left to rot, the Raylight team helped breathe new life into Cotters Lane in the most extraordinary way.

The result is a masterclass in craftsmanship, collaboration, and technical excellence – showcasing just how powerful great joinery can be in elevating architecture. From the breathtaking upper-level curtain wall to the finest detailing, every element reflects a deep respect for the building’s history while pushing performance and design forward.

We couldn’t be prouder to see this recognised on a national stage. Massive congratulations again to the entire team – an incredible achievement and so richly deserved.
