19 feet of cold steel and cool appeal 😎

Big ‘67 Cadillac Fleetwood all sorted for important wedding car duties coming up.

Very original under the hood, the big Caddy was in need of some repairs and upgrades to ensure the 429 big block can keep running smooth for years to come.

Main parts of the job were: Replacement water pump and ignition upgrade parts imported from the US and fitted, removing the points ignition system to upgrade to a 12V electronic system, some oil leaks sorted, a bit of a checkup on the carb tune, some unnecessary components under the hood removed and fresh hoses & gaskets etc where needed.

Ran it through for a WOF and we needed some tyres and couple small bits, all sorted now and it’s on the road.

This behemoth rides like a cloud but gets up and boogies when the big shiny pedal meets the carpet.

I had a great time at the Lawrence 1/4 Mile sprint as per usual, one of the best events in the south. I bolted on my dirty side-exit straight pipes and the big ol’ Chebby cut high 13s on my dragy all day. It was a privilege to see some customer cars do well also. See you there next year!

Back on the tools for 2026!

I’m pretty screwed for bigger jobs until March or so at this stage but may be able to sneak in tunes or exhaust jobs so hit me up.

Twin 3.5” X-piped custom system with Ho**er Aero Chamber mufflers & 2” primary full tube Castle Headers modified to fit the HZ front clip of this serious blown ‘55 Chevy. Already battle-scared from a bit of thrashing.

This thing sounds like the gates of hell themselves have opened to consume all that is fuel economy.

Originally when I tuned this blower setup we could see the old exhaust on the car was limiting us power wise so I set out for maximum flow with the big custom system. After getting back to the dyno yesterday and retuning the setup for the big exhaust we picked up a 20% horsepower increase, say no to back pressure kids.

The 1/8th mile sprint on Sunday was a massive success, thanks again to Rob and Otago Sports Car Club (OSCC) for putting it on!

Great to see a decent turnout and some customer/mates cars there also, would be great to see even more next time.

Rumour has it there may be another one in the works.. 🏁

After a bit of cross referencing with the paper copies, we've rectified a couple of inputting errors.

Turns out the prize for sketchiest run, is also actually the prize for fastest time. Congratulations to Craig O'hara.

📝 Documentation and Scrutineering: 9.00am – 10.00am at the OSCC Van.

👀 Check out the details below for what you need to know to enter:

🏎️ VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
* A Car with rego and WoF is the best option, but if this is not you can still enter as long as your vehicle meets all the requirements below. If you don’t have WoF or Rego, car must be trailered to and from the event.

ALL VEHICLES MUST MEET THE REQUIREMENTS BELOW
* Steering; no loose steering wheels or components.
* Brakes; make sure they work and the pedal ain’t on the floor!
* Loose or protruding objects from bodywork will be turned away (exhaust poking out of bonnets excessively, guards hanging on with cable ties, tyres/wheels hanging out etc).
* Doors must open and close from the inside and out.
* Driver must have safe functioning seat belt.
* Must have a cover over the positive terminal on battery and battery secured.
* No dripping oil leaks.
* No EV’s or Hybrids, unfortunately we’re not able to safely look after you.
* Car seats and other loose objects must be removed from car.
* Must have dot rated tyres, no slicks
* No Nitrous
* A muffler in your exhaust is mandatory, no straight pipes… yes, we know, but rules are rules

👤 DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
* A helmet (check the standards for these under schedule a part one of the motorsport manual section 4.1)https://motorsport.org.nz/wp-content/uploads/Schedule-A-Part-One.pdf
* Clean 100% cotton overalls and nothing burnable under them, no polyester nylon etc.
* Enclosed leather or cotton shoes

* On the day, please listen to all marshal’s directions including where to park.
* If we can keep burnouts to a minimum would be great, just to try help the event to be able to be run again in the future!
